Billy J. Anderson, 66, of Pittsburg, died unexpectedly Friday, Oct. 7, 2022.
He was born to Bill J. and Genevieve Anderson. He graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1974.
Billy worked various jobs throughout his life, including being a blackjack dealer in Las Vegas, custodian for USD 250 elementary schools, Southeast Kansas Regional Juvenile Detention Center, and Choices. Billy was a caregiver for years for his parents in their home until their passing. His recent passion was doing volunteer work at Lincoln and Miners Immigration Parks.
Survivors include his brothers Barry (Shayne) Anderson and Mark (Theora) Anderson, both of Pittsburg; nephews Erick (Christy) Anderson of Overland Park, Gabe (Kimberly) Anderson of Louisburg, and Sean (Hannah) Anderson of Frontenac; great-nephew and niece Jack and Reese Anderson of Louisburg; and great-nieces Lucy, Nora, and Greta Anderson of Frontenac.
Billy never met a stranger and will be missed by numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Genevieve Anderson.
Visitation will be on Thursday, Oct. 20, at 1 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 2 p.m. at Brenner Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas (Miner's Memorial) or the Humane Society. A private family burial will be held at a future date.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, Kansas.
