Fly Kansas Air Tour lands in Pittsburg

On Thursday morning, more than 20 private aircraft landed at Atkinson Municipal Airport in Pittsburg as part of the annual Fly Kansas Air Tour. Presented by the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) Division of Aviation and Kansas Commission on Aerospace Education, the tour is a three-day, nine-city celebration of aviation. Pittsburg is the second stop on this year’s statewide tour, which began in Wellington, south of Wichita.

TLC in Girard officially opens new playground

The Learning Center in Girard, part of the SEK Interlocal 637, officially opened its new playground Thursday. According to TLC Principal Jon Bishop, this was a long overdue improvement. Although first used at the end of last school year, the final touches were added in June over summer break.

Labette County bodies identified, deaths declared homicides
