Rose M. Kern, 94, of Pittsburg, died at 7:13 p.m., Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at her residence in Pittsburg.
Rose was born February 16, 1929 in Rockford, Illinois, a daughter of Ralph and Mary (Harvey) Morris. She lived in McCune and Walnut and graduated from Walnut High School in 1946.
Rose married James Willard Beggs on January 26, 1961 in Girard, and he preceded her in death on April 10, 1982. She married Andrew "Andy" Vernon Kern on February 16, 1995 in Pittsburg, and he preceded her in death on September 24, 2006.
Rose worked at the catalog store in Sears and Ben Franklin, both in Girard. She assisted with caring for 2 people while she lived in Girard.
Rose enjoyed her grandchildren, having family dinners, playing pinochle, playing Bingo, and watching the Kansas City Chiefs and the KU Jayhawks.
She was a member of the Wednesday Pinocle Club.
Survivors are her son, Charles Yoho of Girard; her daughters, Edna Hallacy, and her husband, Bob, of Brazilton, Linda Curran, and her husband, Willard, of Girard, Reva Dent, and her husband, Ted, of Girard, Rhonda Harrison, and her husband, Richard, of Hepler, and Cheryl Harvey, and her husband, Bill, of Pittsburg; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Rose was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph M. Morris; a brother, Elzie Musy; a sister, Sister Mary Alma Musy; infant brother, Ferdinand Musy.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 4, 2023 in the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard, with Pastor C. L. Armstrong officiating. Burial will be in the Girard Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Tuesday.
Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
