Robert Harvey Rounds

Robert Harvey Rounds, beloved father and grandfather, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2023, at the age of 72.

Robert was born in Salisbury, Maryland, to Robert Parker and Ruth Irene (Lint) Rounds.

Robert served as a clerk in the United States Army from 1969 to 1972 in the Vietnam War.

Robert worked for his father in a full-service Shell gas station from age 11 to 17. He attended two years of college at Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls, Iowa. He worked in a zinc mine briefly in Colorado in the 70s. Robert was also a flight planner with Ozark Airlines. He was a computer operator, an intellectual, a music enthusiast, and a fervent narrator.

Membership was held in the Zion Lutheran Church of Pittsburg.

He is survived by his eldest sister, Barbara J. Abuhl of Arlington, Washington; his two children, Philip Rounds and Erica Crinnigan of Franklin, Kansas; his four grandchildren, Matthew Cedeno, Steven Piper, Eliza Michelsen, and Blane Martens; as well as nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Becky Brushwood.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 23, 2023, at the Fort Scott National Cemetery, with Pastor Theodore Cook officiating. Graveside military rites will be provided by the U.S. Army Funeral Detail. Friends are requested to meet at the cemetery. A memorial will follow the graveside services at his home in Franklin. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 22, at the Brenner Mortuary, where friends may call after 10 a.m. to sign the register. Online condolences may be left on the Brenner Mortuary website.
