There's a new look to Pittsburg State's spring football game.
The game will be played at 6 p.m. Friday at Carnie Smith Stadium. Traditionally the game has been played on Saturday mornings. Admission is free.
The game will have a controlled offense vs. defense format.
The offense can generate points with touchdowns, field goals, extra points, 2-point conversions, first downs and 20-plus yard plays.
The defense can earn points from takeaways, tackles-for-loss, quarterback sacks, forced punts and stops on fourth down.
Last year the defense beat the offense 58-51 in the game that was decided on the final play from scrimmage.
Head coach Brian Wright and his staff had approximately 115 players in camp this spring. Friday night's game will mark the end of spring drills.
The Gorillas return eight offensive players and seven defensive players who started at least five games from last season's 8-3 team.
