Mila Dixon

Mila Dixon, 85, of McCune, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 1:55 a.m., Sunday, July 17, 2022, at Medicalodge South in Pittsburg. She will be forever remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all who knew her.

Mila was born April 11, 1937, in McCune, to Ralph and Evelyn (Harley) Samp. She attended school in McCune and was a 1955 graduate of McCune High School.

She married her high school sweetheart, Dean Dixon, on Nov. 3, 1956, at the home of her parents. They were happily married for 61 years. Dean preceded her in death Feb. 3, 2017.

Mila loved Jesus and was a devoted member of the Nazarene Church. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, reading, gardening, and spoiling her grandchildren.

Surviving is her daughter, Terri (Duane) Davis; granddaughters, DeNene (Brian) Flaharty and Stacey (Tom) Brooks; grandson, Brandon (Sarah) Davis; great-grandchildren, Kalyn, Breann, Zachary, Peyton, Rylee, Brett, Avery, and Bentley.

In addition to her husband, Dean, she was preceded in death by a son, Gary Dean Dixon; a sister, Sandra Dixon; and a niece, Regina (Dixon) Gaiser.

Per her wishes, a private service will be at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be at the McCune Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home to sign the register from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until noon Wednesday.
