St. Pius X Student Center to host Matching Gift Day

Posted

PITTSBURG, Kan. — The St. Pius X (SPX) Catholic Student Center in Pittsburg will host a Matching Gift Day on Aug. 21. The Matching Gift Day is in conjunction with the feast day of St. Pius X and the first day of Pittsburg State University classes. SPX Catholic Student Center, located on the PSU campus, has served university students for 110 years.

“The beginning of the school year is such an exciting time to invite students into our mission of encountering Christ,” said Fr. Derek Thome, Chaplain of St. Pius X. “The Matching Gift Day is a way to invite alumni and community members into that mission, ensuring that we are able to fully live our mission and provide the means for students to live their faith and form authentic relationships.”

“Every gift made up to $25,000, because of the generosity of a donor, will be matched,” said Bethany Kendrick, Director of Development at St. Pius X. “We invite everyone to come to campus on August 21, stop by SPX and tour our renovated Chapel, enjoy refreshments, and hear how we will move our mission forward.”

St. Pius X Catholic Student Center is located at 301A E. Cleveland St, Pittsburg, on the PSU campus.
