Mary Belle Galichia (Redd)

Mary Belle Galichia (Redd), 90, of Arma, passed away on Oct. 26, 2022, at Medicalodges in Pittsburg after the worsening of a chronic illness. 

Mary was born on Jan. 16, 1932, to Bert O. and Lillie B. (Bass) Redd. She was the youngest of seven children. Her siblings included Raymond Redd, Robert Redd, Merle Redd, Harold Redd, Hazel Pottoroff, and Betty Buffington. 

Mary lived in Pittsburg and the surrounding area most of her life. She attended Horace Mann School in Pittsburg. Mary was a hard worker and had several jobs over her life, including Brinkman's Greenhouse, Camelot Cleaners, and Pitt-Plastics, Inc. Mary loved to decorate and dance, and spent a good portion of her life doing both. 

Mary had three sons, Jerry L. Rich, Larry A. Hudson, and Gary W. Hudson; and two daughters, Mary Dianna Barnes (Hudson) and Sherry A. Pullman (Hudson). She also had several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. 

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, including two younger infant sisters; four of her children; and three grandsons, Adam Barnes and Kevin and Kelly Rich. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Glen Rich, Andrew Noah Hudson, and Joe Galichia, and by her good friend, Willie Wurtz. 

Surviving family members include her daughter, Mary Dianna Barnes (Jerry) of Pittsburg; a daughter-in-law, Linda Hudson of Girard; a son-in-law, Craig Pullman of Arma; grandchildren: Jerry Lee Rich II, Jerry Lee Rich Jr., Lilian Garcia, Steven Rich, Larry Hudson Jr., Dee Dee Bas (Erick), Sally Pullman-Rinkel (Max), Steven Barnes, Robert Barnes (Carla), and Connie Borders; as well as several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. 

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 7, 2022, at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg. A burial of cremains will directly follow at New Pleasant View Cemetery in Scammon, at the corner of NE Star Valley Rd. and NE 60th St. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be sent to the Southeast Kansas Humane Society.
