Dianne Viranda, age 83, of Frontenac, KS, passed away peacefully at her home on January 25, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. She will be forever loved and remembered.
She was born on November 27, 1940 to Sammy and Dola Thomas.
Dianne is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Junior Viranda, her three children: Sam Viranda (Mary), Jda Hope (Mike), and Karla Viranda. Dianne is also survived by three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren with one on the way, her sister, Sandy Jones; her sister-in-law, Virginia Brown; as well as a niece and a nephew.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one niece (Kim Pakitsos), and a nephew (Rick Jones).
Dianne took great pride in being a housewife as her children were growing up. It wasn’t until her children were in high school that she began working outside of the home. She worked 13 years for Wal-Mart until she retired in the mid 80’s.
Dianne enjoyed spending the winter months with her husband Jr. in the desert. In addition, she and Jr. enjoyed serving as camp hosts at Twin Bridges during the spring months.
A private family interment will take place at a later date at the Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be sent to Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Frontenac, KS, or to Harry Hynes Hospice of Pittsburg, KS.
