PITTSBURG, Kan. — The Crawford County Democrats will have a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for their new full-time headquarters at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 23. Festivities will begin at the Pritchett Pavilion at 106 W 2nd Street, followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony at the actual headquarters location at 217A N. Broadway.
A special program, meant to invoke a sense of unity and purpose, will be held during the ceremony. Featured guest speakers include Kansas State Democratic Chairwoman Jeanna Repass and Labor Leader and Kansas State Democratic Party Vice-Chair Shaun Junkins. Xavier Moore will perform the National Anthem, and both Khadija Ceesay and Delma Thomas will read poems.
"We are thrilled to unveil our new full-time headquarters as a symbol of our commitment to empowering citizens and driving positive change in Crawford County," said Dr. Emily Walters, the Crawford County Democratic Party Chairperson. "This space will provide a centralized location for our dedicated volunteers and supporters to work tirelessly towards achieving our shared goals of progress, inclusivity, and social justice."
The new full-time headquarters will include a welcoming reception area, a meeting space, and a campaign resource center. The organization plans to make the new headquarters the epicenter of grassroots organizing efforts, voter registration drives, educational workshops, and various community initiatives, amplifying the Crawford County Democrats' efforts in shaping a more progressive and inclusive society.
The new headquarters was meticulously designed to meet the evolving needs of the organization while serving as a central hub for Democratic activism and community engagement within Crawford County.
