Barbara Carolyn Huse Walstrom, 81, of Girard, KS died June 23, 2023 at Via Christi Residential Care, Pittsburg, KS.
She was born October 8, 1941 in Fort Scott, KS the daughter of Glendon and Barbara (Thorburn) Huse. Carolyn received her Teacher's Education Degree from Emporia State University in 1963 and taught elementary school.
On March 27, 1964 she was united in marriage to Lee Laverne Walstrom in Johnson City, KS; who preceded her in death on May 6th, 2017. She then taught elementary school classes in the Girard Schools from 1969, retiring in 1999.
Carolyn was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, Pittsburg, KS, and she also enjoyed traveling with her husband, Lee.
Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law Ernie and Jodie Huse; five nephews, Paul Eric, John Damon, and Thomas Storm Huse, Kenneth and Bryan; niece Brenda; and sister-in-law, Rose Walstrom.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glendon and Barbara Huse; her husband, Lee Laverne Walstrom; his parents, Rudolph and Reva (Robertson) Walstrom; brother-in-law Robert E. Walstrom.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday, June 30, 2023, at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg with Rev. John Vulgamore officiating. Burial will follow at the National Cemetery in Ft. Scott, KS. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. June 30th until service time at 11:00 a.m. Condolences may be left at www.bathnaylor.com.
