Betty Mae Vanderpool Hough-Henry, age 88, passed away on June 7, 2023, while at the Saint Joseph Villa in Omaha, Nebraska.

Betty was born in Pittsburg, Kansas, to Bert and Edith Vanderpool.

Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and loved spending her time with them all. They will recall how much she enjoyed preparing meals for them and the many wonderful meals and desserts that she prepared. The family meals and foods she prepared for in-home parties remain legendary!

Betty had many interests and was an amazing and diverse seamstress making, among other things, remarkable clothing, curtains and draperies, and Halloween costumes for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Betty worked outside the home for many years as an executive assistant at Pitney Bowes in Wichita and was admired and respected by her colleagues with whom she worked for many years. After retiring from Pitney Bowes, Betty founded her own very successful seamstry business, "Betty's Sew Happy."

In retirement, she and her husband, Jack Henry, traveled frequently to see her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack E. Henry; her son, Gary Herbert Hough; and her former spouse, Glenn L. Hough. She is survived by her sister, Martha Ann Keith; her sons Greg and Gordon; niece, Jill; step-son, Tom; step-daughters Sunita and Nancy; grandchildren, Van, Jace, Gage, Graham, Grace, Hunter, Covey, Nijmegen; and four great-grandchildren, Elle, Keston, Becklind, Zita and Gianna, all of whom she cared from deeply.

Betty received outstanding in-home care in the last years of her life from her daughter-in-law, Ann, who welcomed her into her home and provided around-the-clock care for Betty.

A private family graveside service is planned.
