Alice Joann Davied

Alice Joann Davied, 82, of Girard, died at 1:47 p.m., Friday, April 14, 2023 in the Girard Medical Center.

Alice was born October 26, 1940 in Girard, a daughter of Alva and Mildred (Horton) Bennett. She grew up and attended schools in Girard and graduated from Girard High School in 1958.

Alice Married Robert J. Davied on May 6, 1961 in St. Aloysius Church at Greenbush. He survives of the home.

Alice worked as an administrative assistant for Kansas State University in the Expanded Foods and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) for over 37 years.

She enjoyed traveling, reading, spending time with her family, and supporting K-State Football.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, Robert, of the home, are her sons, Steve Davied, and his wife, Jeanne, of Arma and Mark Davied, and his wife, Ange, of Manhattan; her daughters, Deborah Russell, and her husband, Ray, of Pittsburg and Cheri Davied of Mustang, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Matt Davied, and his wife, Tristen, Amber Fiscus, and her husband, Kendall, Jessica Chadd, and her husband, Blake, Susan Artherton, and her husband, Coty, and Colton Sullivan; her great-grandchildren, Jordan Davied, Nate Davied, Zen Davied, Payton Artherton, Hunter Chadd, J. Lucas Fiscus, Easton Chadd, Kennedy Fiscus, and Kamden Artherton; her brothers, Allan Bennett, and his wife, Cheryl, of Girard, Bill Bennett, and his wife, Coralie, of Girard, Gary Bennett of Frontenac, and Larry Bennett, and his wife, Marilyn, of Girard; her sisters, Betty Trammell of Girard, Judy Thoenen, and her husband, Larry, of Oologah, Oklahoma, and Joyce Kovacic, and her husband, John, of Girard.

Alice was preceded in death by her brothers, Carl Bennett, Don Bennett, Floyd Bennett, Harold Bennett, and Bob Bennett, and her sister, Nadine Overstreet.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Girard, with Fr. Mike Klag as Celebrant. Burial will be in the Girard Cemetery.

The Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. Monday at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard.

Memorials are suggested to St. Aloysius Historical Society and St. Michael Building Fund, and these may be left at the church or the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home, 518 W St. John, Box 258, Girard, 66743.
