92 PSU student-athletes honored by D2 ADA

Posted

Ninety-two Pittsburg State student-athletes earned recognition for their work inside the classroom from the Division 2 Athletics Directors Association with the release of the 2022-23 D2 ADA Academic Achievement Awards on Thursday.

PSU contributed to the record-breaking 19,537 student-athletes from 196 institutions overall and the 1,037 from the MIAA in 2022-23.

Student-athletes must be from a school with a current dues-paying D2 ADA member, have a cumulative 3.5 or higher GPA on a 4.0 scale, have attended a minimum of two years (four semesters) of college level work, and have been an active member on an intercollegiate team during his or her last academic year.

The Academic Achievement Awards are in their 16th year.

“This program continues to showcase the amazing student-athletes, and the impactful support of their coaches and staff, across our Division 2 landscape,” said Kirby Garry, Cal State Monterey Bay athletic director and current D2 ADA President, in a release. “While the number of deserving student-athletes continues to increase annually, the number of institutions recognizing these individuals on campus also continues to trend upwards. We look forward to eclipsing the 200-institution barrier next year.”
