PITTSBURG, Kan. — As part of its comprehensive career exploration and readiness efforts, the Pittsburg State University College of Technology hosted its annual Company Days event on Tuesday and Wednesday.
At no cost to attend, students at PSU stopped at the numerous tables showcased by companies in attendance for the opportunity to find a job after graduation. The event also helps businesses network with PSU students and faculty as well as other company representatives in their respective industries.
Tuesday’s Company Days focused on construction management/construction engineering technology two-year electrical technology, and environmental and safety management; graphic communications; and wood product manufacturing.
Companies in attendance on Tuesday included Adams Group, APAC, Black & Veatch, CDL Electric, Crossland Construction, Hallmark Cards, Herzog, Koch Industries, Mammoth Sports Construction, Peerless Products, and Uplink.
As for Wednesday, the event centered around automotive technology, diesel and heavy equipment; electronics engineering technology; manufacturing engineering technology; mechanical engineering technology; and plastics engineering technology.
Wednesday’s company attendees included BMW, Bridgestone, EaglePicher Technologies, Garmin International, General Motors, Leggett & Platt, Subaru of America, and Textron Aviation.
Along with the annual Company Days event, the Pittsburg State Construction Alumni Association is scheduled to host its sixth annual ‘Alumni Kansas City Sporting Clay Shoot’ at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 6, at Powder Creek Shooting Park in Lenexa.
