WICHITA, Kan.--The No. 2 seeded Pittsburg Purple Dragons plated two runs in the sixth inning to take the lead and hold on for a 5-3 victory over the seventh-seeded Salina Central Mustangs in the first round of the Class 5A softball state tournament on Thursday at Wilkins Stadium on the campus of Wichita State University.
