PITTSBURG, Kan. — April is National Autism Awareness month, and to help foster an understanding of Autism in the community, Root Coffeehouse is hosting a silent auction fundraiser for the USD 250 Autism program.
All month long, community members can bid on artwork created by students in the Autism program. The idea for the fundraiser was initiated by Francisco Castaneda, a Pittsburg State University student majoring in Early Childhood Education and Spanish.
