Joy Elaine (Holcomb) Good-Blackburn, 70, of Dennis, died at 12:12 p.m., Friday, Dec. 27, 2024, at her home.
She was born June 30, 1954, at Parsons, a daughter of Oliver Marion and June Helen (Minard) Holcomb. She grew up at McCune and attended school there. She received Certified Nurse’s Aide training and cared for the elderly in their homes around Parsons. She also cleaned houses.
On April 28, 1984, she was united in marriage to Stephen Good at Parsons. He preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 2008. She later married John M. Blackburn in Jan. 2011 in Miami, OK. He also preceded her in death on Sept. 13, 2023.
She was a member of the Dennis United Methodist Church. She was also a member of Alcoholics Anonymous. She enjoyed going to garage sales and making crafts.
Survivors include: one son – John Good of Dennis, KS; one step-son – Jerry Stewart of Kansas City, MO; one daughter – Melissa Kuffler, and her companion, Troy Whetzell of Orlando, FL; seven grandchildren – Tori Good of Dennis, KS, Phenix Good of Wichita, KS, Corben Good of Wichita, KS, Tony Archuleta of Parsons, KS, Daniel Good of Lawrence, KS, Stephen Kuffler of Pittsburg, KS, Amanda Heckman of Dennis, KS; eight great-grandchildren; one sister – Nancy Varner of Parsons, KS.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by one brother, Terry Holcomb and one sister, Patsy Stewart.
Memorials services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025, with Pastor Pat McReynolds officiating. Inurnment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
