John Iori Warlop, 87, passed away June 26, 2025, at his home in Greenfield, MO. He was born Oct. 11, 1937, in Arma, KS to Adele and John B. Warlop. He graduated from Arma High School. He married Louise Mae Wivel on June 24, 1956, at the Arma Methodist Church. Together they raised 4 sons, Wes Warlop of Kansas City, MO, Brad (Lori) Warlop of Arma, Bill (Bonnie) Warlop of Frontenac, and Greg (Vickie) Warlop of Frontenac. They later divorced. He married Delores Winn on January 15, 1981. She preceded him in death.
He worked as a machinist at McNally Manufacturing in Pittsburg for many years, moving up to shift foreman and later superintendent of the machine shop. He also worked at Beard Manufacturing in Shreveport, LA for several years until his retirement.
His interests included gunsmithing, sport shooting, fishing, quail hunting, and working his bird dogs. He owned and operated Warlop Gun and Gun Repair shop, located in a section of Ryder’s Sporting Goods Store in Arma. He enjoyed skeet and trap shooting and was invited to the Olympic trials by the National Skeet Shooting Association.
Survivors include one brother, C.C. (Coreen) Warlop of Mission, KS, his four sons, two step-daughters, Becky Barrett of Pittsburg and Jan Fowler of Blue Springs, MO, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is being cremated, according to his wishes. The family is planning a private grave-side service at the Rosebank Cemetery in Mulberry at a later date. Condolences may be left at www.bathnaylor.com. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home of Pittsburg.
