Irvin A. Weber

Irvin A. Weber, 89, of Girard, Kansas, died at 12:40 a.m., Monday, May 30, 2022 in the Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, Kansas.

Irvin was born July 5, 1932 at rural Girard, Kansas, a son of Walter and Opal (Miller) Weber.

He attended school at Immanuel Lutheran near Hepler and later a business college in Wichita.

Irvin served in the US Navy from 1952 to 1956.  

He married Doris Ann Kmiec on Jan. 9, 1955 in Immanuel Lutheran Church.  She survives of the home.

They lived in California before moving to Derby, Kansas, where Irvin worked in Wichita, Kansas as an inspector for Cessna Aircraft, now Textron, retiring in 1996.

Irvin was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Girard and he served as an elder, treasurer, and trustee at Faith Lutheran Church in Derby before moving to Girard in 2015.

He and his son, Mark, took an Honor Flight to Washington D.C. in 2018.

Irvin enjoyed his family, working in Boy Scouting and coaching Little League and JC/Optimist Club baseball Teams

Survivors, in addition to his wife, Doris, are his sons, Bruce E. Weber, and his wife, Doni, of Mulvane, Kansas; Mark B. Weber, and his wife, Susan, of Topeka, Kansas; his daughters, Valerie L. Cotten, and her husband, Larry, of Fall River; Kim Smith, and her husband, Jeff, of Girard; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; his sisters, Charlotte Mason, and her husband, Gene, of Girard; Sandra Pontious of Girard.

Irvin was preceded in death by his brothers, Clarence “Tony” Weber and Garnett “Pete” Weber; his sisters, Catheryn Schlesner, Edith Vinduska, and an infant.  

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Hepler with Pastor Caleb Stoever officiating.  Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery near Hepler with Military Honors by the Brown-Bishop Post No. 704. Veterans of Foreign Wars of Parsons.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard where friends may call after 2 p.m., Wednesday.

Memorials are suggested to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Trinity Lutheran Church, and Kansas Honor Flights and these may be left at the service or the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home, 518 W St. John, Box 258, Girard, KS, 66743.
