OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (AP) _ Compass Minerals International Inc. (CMP) on Thursday reported a loss of $12.1 million in its fiscal second quarter.
On a per-share basis, the Overland Park, Kansas-based company said it had a loss of 36 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 33 cents per share.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 93 cents per share.
The minerals producer posted revenue of $448.5 million in the period, which topped Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $422.3 million.
