Cameron Smith set to perform in Joplin

Posted

JOPLIN, Mo. — Cameron Smith will be in concert at the Worship Center at Forest Park Church in Joplin 7 p.m. June 17, where he wll be sharing songs from his newly released album “Faith Will Bring You Through” with the City of Prague Philharmonic.

While a physician by training, Smith has been sharing his love of music with audiences since the age of three. The Baxter Springs native grew up in a home abounding in music, and it became his language.

Having trained classically for years, Smith also recognizes the role for pop nuance and has been described as “Christian music’s Josh Groban.” He is grateful for the musical influences of Luciano Pavarotti, Steve Green, and Sandi Patty.

Smith says his mission is to lead audiences to a moving and authentic encounter with God through music.

While he loves both being a physician and singing, his greatest joy, he says, comes from being a husband and father. He and his family reside in the Kansas City area and are members of the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection, where Smith often leads worship.
