Alice Marie Fields, 72, of Pittsburg, KS died at 7:37 p.m. Monday Oct. 28, 2024, at the Mercy Hospital in Pittsburg, KS following an illness.
Alice was born Oct. 14, 1952, in Ft. Scott, KS, the daughter of Stephen O. and Dorothea M. (McHenry) Ratliff. She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Pittsburg Schools.
Alice married Lawrence Wayne Fields on April 3, 1970, in Miami, OK; he preceded her in death on Feb. 4, 2005. Alice worked for1106 Drive Inn, Joe Smith Tobacco Company, Comfort Inn and KC Star delivering papers. Alice was of the Christian Faith; she loved to play solitaire; work on stain glass projects and spending time with her family.
Survivors include children Lawrence Wayne Fields II of Pittsburg, KS and Crystal M. Rose and husband Terry of Arcadia, KS; siblings Rosalie Ayers and husband Robert of Cortez, CO, Johnie Ratliff of Kansas City, MO, Betty Harvey of Pittsburg, KS and Stevie Ratliff of Springfield, MO; grandchildren Aaliyah Hatfield, Vince Rakestraw and wife Kelsie and Carl Rakestaw and Britany Bowling, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Barbara Maybre and grandson Jasper Fields.
Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday Nov. 5, 2024, at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS with Pastor Duane Elmore officiating. Burial will follow at the Crocker Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS. Family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to service at the funeral home. Condolences may be left at www.bathnaylor.com.
