Walter Ragonese, 96, of Ringo, Kansas, died at 5:10 a.m. Friday, July 29, 2022, at Oakview Estates in Frontenac.
Mr. Ragonese was born Aug. 27, 1925 in Ringo, Kansas the son of Pete and Liduina Fabbi Ragonese. Walter was a retired welder for McNally Manufacturing, where he worked for 47 years. He was a lifelong resident of Ringo. He was raised in Ringo and attended Ringo Grade School. He graduated from Arma High School in the Class of 1942. He married Wilma F. Sneed on March 31, 1945, in Girard, Kansas. He served in the United States Army and was a veteran of World War II. Mrs. Ragonese preceded him in death July 15, 2003. He was a member of the Girard Masonic Lodge and the Girard American Legion.
Survivors include a son, Tom (Becky) Ragonese of Pittsburg; two daughters, Carol Jagels of Grove, Oklahoma, and Sheryl (Alan) Bruns of Grove, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Wilma, and two sisters, Marian Patarini and Jessie Ragonese.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, 2022, at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma, with Pastor Rick Prideaux officiating. Burial will be at the Pittsburg Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Bedene Chapel prior to funeral services. Friends may also call from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at the Bedene Chapel.
