Terry Ray Waggoner

Terry Ray Waggoner, 71, of Pittsburg, passed away on Saturday Jan. 5 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Mo after a short illness.

Terry was born on March 26, 1953, in Medicine Lodge, Kansas, the son of Clifford and Dorothy “Jean” Waggoner.

Terry worked in the Pittsburg area his whole life with his last employment as a groundskeeper at Highland Park Cemetery for many years before his health made it impossible for him to continue working. Terry had lived the last few years at Gran Villas Assisted Living in Pittsburg KS where he enjoyed watching westerns on television, solving puzzle books and spending time with his friends.

He is survived by his sister, Donna Lang and her husband Duncan of Rhode Island; his son, Terry Waggoner II and his wife Christina of Pittsburg, KS, and his son Shawn Waggoner of Coker, AL; two grandsons, Nathan Waggoner of Oswego, KS, and Landen Williams of Pittsburg, KS; four granddaughters, Jessica Waggoner of Pittsburg, KS, Tayler Brothers of Millington, MI, Abigail Waggoner of Bellevue, NE, and Makayla Waggoner of Coker, AL; and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Waggoner, and his mother, Dorothy “Jean” Waggoner.

Terry has been cremated according to his wishes. A celebration of life for Terry will be held on Sunday, Jan. 26, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the American Legion Post, 2815 N Joplin St, Pittsburg, KS.
