Officers with the Pittsburg Police Department were called to U.S. Cellular located at 4007 N Broadway St. at approximately 5:30 a.m. on June 13 in reference to an alarm at the business. When officers arrived, they found the electric meter removed from the rear of the business, as well as a window broken to the business.
Officers searched the inside of the business for suspects and none were located. Management arrived and informed officers that items had been stolen from the store. Evidence was collected from the business and a suspect was soon identified.
On June 15th, at approximately 3 p.m. the suspect in the burglary, 37-year-old Dwayne Munger, was located at a residence on east 8th Street in Pittsburg. Items reported stolen in the burglary at U.S. Cellular were located at the residence. Munger was taken into custody and transported to the Pittsburg Police Department for questioning.
Munger was subsequently arrested for felony burglary, felony theft, and misdemeanor criminal damage and transported to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office for booking. He is currently being held with a bond of $3,000.
