WEIR, Kan. — A Pittsburg man was arrested in Weir on Monday after he allegedly broke into a residence and law enforcement officers subsequently found him in possession of stolen property.
Cherokee County sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a Weir home on Monday afternoon after an unknown person was allegedly discovered inside the residence.
Deputies arrived and apprehended the suspect, Aaron Don Span, 30, of Pittsburg, who was reportedly intoxicated, according to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office. Inside the suspect's vehicle, deputies discovered electronics that had previously been stolen from an area health organization, the sheriff’s office said.
Span was transported to the Cherokee County Jail, where he was being held Tuesday afternoon in lieu of $10,000 bond on allegations of aggravated burglary, aggravated assault, criminal possession of a firearm, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under the influence.
