Nancy Grace Miller

On Apr. 14, 2022, Nancy Grace Miller passed away peacefully in her home, after a long battle with cancer. She was 61 years old.

Nancy is survived by her mother Grace Parker-Powell (Bill); her children, Elizabeth Starr Miller, Grace Tucker (Brandon), Faith Helmerich (David) and John Miller; her grandchildren Gage Miller, Claire Tucker and William Tucker; and brother Patrick Parker (Kathy). She was preceded in death by her father Paul Parker and son William Miller. 

Nancy graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1978. She went on to attend Pittsburg State University where she graduated in 1981 with a Bachelors of Science in Education. After graduating from college, she was a 1st grade teacher at Morse Elementary in Overland Park, Kansas, and at McKinley grade school in Joplin, Missouri. She also attended the Culinary Center of Kansas City.

Nancy was a loving and devoted mother. She had many talents, including painting, gardening, interior decorating and cooking. She enjoyed exercising, playing with her grandchildren and volunteering for the Baby4baby program. She touched many lives with her generosity and will be greatly missed.

At Nancy’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Instead she asked that friends and loved ones donate to the Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas.
