Meth, guns seized in Cherokee County raid

BAXTER SPRINGS, Kan. — A suspect was arrested Monday morning following a raid at a rural Baxter Springs residence in which investigators seized methamphetamine and firearms, according to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office. 

Around 7:30 a.m., a search warrant was executed on Southeast Prairie Road as the result of an ongoing criminal investigation into suspected drug activity, according to the sheriff’s office. 

Jason Tessman, age 44, was taken into custody and transported to the Cherokee County Jail, where he was being held without bond Monday afternoon on allegations of possessing of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, criminal possession of firearms and possession of drug paraphernalia.
