Glenda Thurber, 64, of Frontenac, Kansas, died Monday, Dec. 5, 2022, at her residence.
Glenda was born Aug. 19, 1958, in Arkansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Glen and Melba (Work) Bilyeu. She grew up and attended schools in Arkansas City, and she graduated from Arkansas City High School. She attended Crowley County Community College in Arkansas City.
Glenda married Kevin Thurber on Jul. 2, 1980, in Hackney, Kansas. He survives.
Glenda owned and operated a daycare during the 80s and 90s, and then she worked for six years at the Home National Bank, both in Arkansas City, before retiring as a homemaker.
Glenda enjoyed her grandson and her family and playing Bingo.
Survivors include her daughter, Alissa Thurber of Frontenac; her son, Justin Thurber of Eldorado, Kansas; her granddaughter, Brenna Thomas; her grandsons, Jace Russell and Cody Russell; her brothers, Billy Bilyeu, and his wife, Melody, of Arkansas City and Jack Bilyeu, and his wife, Diane, of the Philippines.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Billy Bilyeu and Roger Bilyeu.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
