BAXTER SPRINGS, Kan. — A Galena man is in custody after being arrested early Monday morning by Cherokee County Sheriff's deputies.
Just before 2 a.m., deputies were dispatched to a farm outside of Baxter Springs when the property owner was alerted to someone trespassing.
Upon their arrival, deputies discovered the suspects' truck and a trailer, loaded with stolen property.
As a result of their investigation and evidence left at the scene, deputies located and apprehended 39-year-old Jason Canady.
Canady was transported to the Cherokee County Jail, where he is being held on allegations of theft, criminal trespass, and interference with law enforcement.
