FRONTENAC, Kan. — A drug bust in Frontenac Tuesday afternoon led to the arrest of one individual and the seizure of suspected cocaine, marijuana, paraphernalia, and cash.

Around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, officers from the Frontenac Police Department, Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation executed a search warrant at 812 S. Hugh Street within Apartment A in the southwestern part of the town.

According to the Frontenac Police Department, during the search, investigators located documentation relating to the “Violent Offender Registration Act.”

Responding officers found and seized suspected cocaine, suspected marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and cash in the residence.

Following the seizure, officers arrested 33-year-old Ricky Burns Jr. on an outstanding warrant by Crawford County’s district court.

“The Frontenac Police Department would like to thank the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation for their coordinated efforts in this operation,” said the Frontenac Police Department Wednesday morning. “The collaboration between agencies led to a successful arrest and the removal of dangerous narcotics from the community.”

As of 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Burns Jr. remains in custody at the Crawford County Jail with a $10,000 bond. Burns Jr. is also presumed innocent until proven guilty.
