Daniel L. “Danny” Groves, 76, of Scammon, died April 17, 2025 at his home. He had been ill health for six years.

Dan was born Dec. 31, 1948, in Rock Springs, Wyoming the son of Clyde F. and Irma Belle Guison Groves. He had been lived in Scammon his entire life.

Dan was a veteran of the Vietnam was serving in the US Navy.

He married Sissy Alexander in Casper, Wyoming and she survives at the home in Scammon, KS.

Dan had been a dispatcher with KTL Trucking, a USDA inspector and later a musician, retiring in 2017.

He was a member of the Keith Reeves American Legion Post #3 in Columbus, KS and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #918 in West Mineral, KS.

Survivors in addition to his wife Sissy of the home, include three daughters Lacie Rothrock of Bentonville, Arkansas, Casandra Groves-Rieck and Tammy Groves Smith of Bentonville, Arkansas, three step-children Brandon Hunter of Lyons, KS, Leslie Sikes of Carl Junction, MO and Kristy Hinderliter of Chase, KS, one brother Gary Groves of Columbus and one sister Dianna Groves of Columbus, 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son Danny L. Groves.

Flag folding ceremonies will be conducted at 6 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2025 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Columbus, KS, where the family will receive their friends until 8 pm. Burial of his cremains will be at a later date in the Edgmand Cemetery rural Columbus, KS, with graveside rites by the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #918 of West Mineral, KS. Honorary pallbearers will be David Groves, Dusty Groves, John Ross, Brandon Hunter and Zeppelin Speer. Condolences may be left at our web site www.bathnaylor.com.
