Clinton Lyle Hurt

Clinton Lyle Hurt, 74, passed away on Aug. 9, 2022, after suffering complications from cancer and kidney disease.

He was born to Newton Holder Hurt and Else Ella Brigance in Waldron, Arkansas.

The family settled in the Kansas City metro, where he attended Turner High School.

Following this, he attended and graduated from Pittsburg State University, where he received a bachelor's and master's degree in Art and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology.

After graduation, he taught high school art in Kansas City and later continued on to become a juvenile and adult probation officer in Crawford Country, which jumpstarted his employment as both a Court Services officer and later a Court Administrator in Southeast Kansas.

In 1968, Clinton met and married Nancy Angel, and they had two children, Jason and Abby.

Survivors include his wife Nancy (Angel) Hurt, of Pittsburg; daughter, Abby Hurt of Lenexa, Kansas; grandson, Greg Hurt of Pittsburg; sister, Fern Hurt of Kansas City, Kansas; and nephew, Neil Goodman of Kansas City, Kansas.

Clinton was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Laverne Eakins; brother-in-law, Jack Eakins; sister, Ella Faye Goodman; and son, Jason Hurt.

A Celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, 2022, at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg. Condolences may be left at www.bathnaylor.com.
