Alvin Laughvon Davis

Alvin Laughvon Davis of Radley, Kansas — beloved brother, husband, father, uncle, and grandfather — passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, June 22, at 73 years of age.

He was born on May 20, 1949 in Little Rock, Arkansas, to his parents, Duke and Minnie (Scranton) Davis.

Alvin graduated from High School in Little Rock and joined the Army, where he courageously served in Korea for 6 years. After his military service, he was employed by Best Auto Salvage as an automotive mechanic before running two operations of his own. Alvin's Auto in Little Rock, followed by "South Radley Auto Repair" in Pittsburg. He successfully owned and operated these businesses for over 35 years.

Alvin married the “Love of his Life”, Cinda Tandy, and the two shared over 38 years together. They had three children: one daughter, Mary King; and two sons, Tim (Emily) Davis of Kansas City, Missouri, and Nathaniel Guinn of Fort Smith, Arkansas. He leaves behind three grandchildren: Dylan Davis, Kara Davis, and Jenna Abbott; numerous nieces and nephews; and one great-grandchild.

Mr. Davis is preceded in death by two brothers, Calvin Davis and Lonnie Davis; and two sisters, Linda Hoff and Wanda Tucker. He is survived by one brother, Jerry Don (Beverly) Davis of Morrison, Arkansas; and one sister, Myra Tackett of Little Rock, Arkansas.

Services will be held at 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 30 at Faith Tabernacle, 206 N. Turtle Ave., Weir, KS. Donations for Alvin Davis may be given to Faith Tabernacle of Weir.
