Crawford County Emergency Medical Service (CCEMS) had a record year in 2022 with more than 5,000 calls as of midnight, Jan. 1, and only three active crews per shift. According to EMS Director Randy Sandberg, he needs at least four crews per shift to handle such a large number of calls, but EMS is critically short-staffed. more
